About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Riverside, California (CA) office is seeking a recent graduate to join as a Cultural Resource Management Analyst in 2026. This is not a remote position. The ideal candidate will have had some exposure to supporting tribal, public, and private entities in conducting site inventory surveys, site conditions assessments, and site eligibility evaluations. This includes preparing cultural resources site records and technical studies in accordance with applicable state and federal environmental and historic preservation laws, such as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and/or Section 106 of the National Preservation Act (NHPA). This role will involve supporting and/or engaging in Tribal consultation and public outreach. The candidate will gain experience in conducting peer reviews of cultural resources technical reports, as well as applicable related chapters in environmental documents (e.g., EIRs, EISs, Land Use Plans, etc.). Additional responsibilities include supporting the resolution of complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across teams to achieve client visions for the future built environment. The analyst will work alongside project managers who support tribal, public, and private-sector clients in navigating cultural resource management requirements under state and federal environmental and historic preservation law.

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited program in Archeology, Architectural History, or Anthropology.
Completion of the archeology field school is desired but not required for students earning a Master's degree.

Responsibilities

Supporting tribal, public, and private entities in conducting site inventory surveys, site conditions assessments, and site eligibility evaluations.
Preparing cultural resources site records and technical studies pursuant to applicable state and federal environmental and historic preservation law, such as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and/or Section 106 of the National Preservation Act (NHPA).
Supporting and/or engaging in Tribal consultation and public outreach.
Conducting peer reviews of cultural resources technical reports, as well as applicable related chapters in environmental documents (e.g., EIRs, EISs, Land Use Plans, etc.).
Supporting in solving complex problems.
Assisting project managers.
Collaborating across teams to produce our clients' visions for the future built environment.
Working alongside project managers who support tribal, public, and private-sector clients as they navigate cultural resource management requirements under state and federal environmental and historic preservation law.
