About The Position

As a Culinary Trainee – Catering & Banquets, you will be responsible for assisting the chef as needed in the execution of production, assisting in the daily preparation of basic recipes, unloading, stocking, and rotating products. You will maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of your work area and equipment in accordance with health department standards. You must inform the chef of any shortages before the item runs out and maintain complete knowledge and use of equipment. You will be able to break down your work station and complete closing duties by returning all food items to the proper storage areas, rotating all returned product, wrapping, covering, labeling, and dating all items being put away, straightening up and organizing all storage areas, and cleaning and wiping down the food prep area, reach-in, and walk-ins.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate in English, read and follow recipes
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of culinary experience in a restaurant kitchen
  • Candidates must exhibit basic knife skills and the willingness to learn and take direction from chefs and cooks
  • Requires the ability to work within a team environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times
  • Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • 2nd language a plus
  • Experience in a 5 star or fine-dining restaurant preferred
  • Basic culinary knowledge a plus
