About The Position

As a Culinary Support Roundsperson on our Westbrook team, you will help deliver fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, contribute to menu development, and work across multiple kitchen functions. You’ll be part of a team that values quality, food safety, customer service, and continuous learning, with the chance to expand your expertise through cross-training and hands-on experience. This role supports the day-to-day employee experience at IDEXX by ensuring food is prepared safely, consistently, and to a high standard. Your work helps maintain smooth café operations and contributes to a bustling workplace where employees can rely on quality service.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing for extended periods; performing repetitive hand and arm movements; walking frequently (approximately 3–5 miles per day); lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds; and occasionally bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Strong food preparation skills and the ability to produce a variety of dishes with quality and consistency.
  • Ability to assist in menu development and contribute creativity to culinary offerings.
  • Strong team focus and ability to contribute both independently and collaboratively.
  • Autonomy to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions when needed.
  • Commitment to quality, food safety, and customer service excellence.
  • Basic computer skills, including email usage.
  • Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback and continuously improve.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food as directed by the Head Chef and/or Executive Chef.
  • Provide culinary support including line cooking, food preparation, menu creation, and plating.
  • Work across all venues and cross-train to support a variety of kitchen operations.
  • Monitor sanitation practices and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Maintain safe food handling procedures and promote a safe working environment.
  • Clean and maintain café equipment and machinery.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with CDC guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining kitchen organization and inventory alongside the Head Chef.
  • Contribute to menu development in collaboration with culinary leadership.
