About The Position

Resources for Human Development is seeking a compassionate, dependable Culinary Specialist for a part-time role in a long-term residential setting. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting individuals and providing nutritious meals that promote health, wellness, and quality of life. The role involves planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for up to 18 adult men in a long-term residential program.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Food Safety Certification
Valid Driver's License
Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including background checks, physical examination, TB screening, and drug testing
Ability to work with computers and commonly used software applications
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must successfully complete all required background and reference checks

Nice To Haves

2-3 years of experience in food service, culinary operations, or institutional food preparation
Experience planning menus and managing food inventories
Understanding of food safety regulations and residential program requirements
Experience maintaining compliance with state and local health codes
Experience working independently in a food service environment

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain meal plans that meet nutritional and program requirements
Create supply and purchasing lists to support weekly menus
Prepare and serve quality meals in accordance with established schedules
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational kitchen environment
Monitor food storage, rotation, and inventory practices
Complete food temperature logs and production records
Follow state and local health and safety requirements
Promote a safe and welcoming dining experience for residents
Work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism
