About The Position

Lunch-Bunch cultivates children’s interest in culinary arts and teaches valuable life skills through hands-on cooking enrichment programs. Its programs foster understanding of nutrition, culture, creativity, teamwork, and confidence in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Classrooms are fast-paced, interactive, and highly engaging, and teachers are expected to lead confidently, adapt quickly, and provide a structured, supportive setting where students can thrive. The Level 1 Enrichment Teacher collaborates with other teachers to implement and manage culinary-based educational enrichment programs and cooking classes. The role includes supporting instruction, preparing materials, and giving students individualized attention in an engaging learning environment centered on cooking and culinary arts. It is suited to people interested in helping children learn through hands-on experiences, including aspiring teachers, education majors, youth program leaders, camp counselors, and coaches. This is an active classroom leadership role, not simply an assistant position. Teachers help manage student engagement, classroom behavior, lesson execution, and overall classroom success. They are expected to be dependable, adaptable, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced environment, helping students safely explore cooking, build confidence, and develop life skills. The position requires after-school availability, typically between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Class sessions vary from two to six hours per day depending on location, and teachers must commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the semester. School schedules may change seasonally. Compensation is $25 per hour, with opportunities to advance to Level II and Level III Teacher positions based on performance and readiness. The job description notes that other related duties may be assigned to meet the organization’s ongoing needs.
