About The Position
Launch your career at Conagra Brands, one of North America’s leading branded food companies! Our externship program will introduce you to the world of consumer packaged goods with the goal of cooking up an interest in future career opportunities and allowing you to make an impact in a refuse-to-lose environment. You will be immersed into Conagra Brands and our R&D (Research & Development) Organization for 14 weeks. As an extern for our Culinary Innovation team, you will be responsible for one primary project that will be determined at the onset of your externship. With guidance from your manager, business, and technical resources, you’ll have the support to design and bring your project concept(s) to life. In addition to your primary project, you will support our team of Development Chefs on a variety of culinary responsibilities.
Requirements
- Strong culinary skills (knife skills, kitchen, and food safety core competencies)
- Ability to safely and comfortably lift 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time up to four hours
- Work in a kitchen setting on various surface types
- Exposure to microwaves and testing equipment
- You are willing to relocate to Omaha for the duration of your externship
- You do not require sponsorship now, or in the future, and must currently be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities
- Gold-standard development
- Benchtop development
- Concept ideation
- Assisting with the execution of internal and external events
- Provide culinary guidance to cross-functional partners (Product development, packaging, processing, marketing, supply chain, etc.)
- Manage internal and external product cuttings
- Identification and interpretation of culinary trends
- Procure, organize, and maintain kitchen inventory
- Kitchen stewardship (sanitation, maintenance, organization, etc.)
