The Culinary Associate II performs basic food preparation and service tasks for retail areas, catering, ingredient room, and/or patient Room Service line. This role handles food in accordance with HACCP principles and applicable food codes, and safely uses, cleans, and cares for equipment and work areas. The associate is responsible for accurately managing position paperwork and processes, including order-taking and preparation, cash register operations, cash-ups, temperature monitoring, food temperatures on the serving line, weighing and measuring ingredients, Room Service records, tray time paperwork, and Physician Lounge and catering event paperwork for charging. They must follow correct hand hygiene procedures, utilize appropriate scripting, and respond effectively to patients and internal/external customers. The role requires effective and safe use of position equipment, performing applicable cleaning and sanitation procedures. Additionally, the associate must correctly date-mark food items, monitor temperature control, and follow First In First Out food storage procedures. Food and beverages are prepared, assembled, served, cooked, or baked per guidelines/recipes. As assigned, the associate accurately handles cash and manages sales transactions through MyMicros software, ensuring accuracy within $2.00 or less at the end of the shift and handling credit card and gift card transactions per guidelines.
