We’re looking for a culinary aide who is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in serving great food. You’ll work alongside our culinary team to prepare, portion, serve, and clean up meals while following food safety and sanitation standards. Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English
  • Employees must meet all applicable state background check requirements before working in the facility
  • Employees must be 18 years of age or older for this position

Nice To Haves

  • Food service experience is a plus
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Six months of long-term care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing and portioning food, beverages, salads, desserts, and other menu items
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus, therapeutic diets, and resident preferences
  • Follow standardized recipes and proper food handling and food safety practices
  • Ensure meals are attractive, appetizing, and served at the proper temperature
  • Deliver and serve meals and snacks according to established schedules
  • Accurately serve meals according to each resident’s diet order and food preferences
  • Use proper portion-control utensils and techniques
  • Label, date, store, and rotate food appropriately
  • Monitor and record food, refrigerator, freezer, dishwashing, and sanitizer temperatures
  • Wash dishes and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe throughout meal preparation and service
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Assist with receiving and storing food and kitchen supplies
  • Monitor inventory and report low stock or supply needs
  • Use food, supplies, and equipment efficiently to help reduce waste
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to manufacturer and supervisory instructions
  • Report equipment or safety concerns promptly
  • Make recommendations that could improve recipes, menus, production, or meal service
  • Work cooperatively with team members across the facility
  • Interact with residents, families, and visitors in a positive and respectful manner
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
