About The Position

At Anacortes Health & Rehabilitation of Cascadia Healthcare, we’re dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care that supports our residents in living their best lives. We’re looking for a dependable and team-oriented Culinary Aide / Dishwasher to support our dining services team. In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment for our residents, staff, and guests.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
  • Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations.
  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
  • Experience in food service is desired.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food prep, including beverages, salads, desserts, and other menu items
  • Serve meals and snacks in a timely, accurate, and appealing manner
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Ensure food is prepared and served at correct temperatures
  • Support meal delivery to designated areas according to schedule
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper procedures
  • Keep kitchen, dish area, and workspaces clean and organized
  • Label, date, and store food items correctly
  • Monitor and log food, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwashing temperatures
  • Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies
  • Help maintain inventory and report low stock to leadership
  • Use equipment safely and report any maintenance needs
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other departments
  • Provide friendly, respectful interactions with residents, families, and team members
