About The Position

Basalite Building Products, LLC is a manufacturer of concrete masonry products and a member of the Pacific Coast Building Products Family of Companies. The Cuber Operator works under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent and supports plant production by operating the cuber and related equipment, verifying product quality and output, and demonstrating the company’s Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success. The role also performs other related duties as assigned. It is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $18.00–$19.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
On-the-job training to perform the essential duties.
Ability to learn and follow equipment safety procedures.
Ability to read and use a tape measure and perform basic math.
Ability to shovel and perform general cleanup duties.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
Predictable and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

Learn product names, sizes, and color details.
Learn cubing patterns and the number of blocks per pallet.
Learn and understand the controls and proper operation of the cuber, splitter, and depalleter.
Operate the cuber, splitter, and depalleter safely and immediately report equipment problems to a Supervisor or Machine Operator.
Assist the Machine Operator with problems during machine downtime and with mold changes.
Keep the work area clean during machine downtime and check with the Shift Lead about additional duties.
Stack and flip block.
Inspect the cuber at the start of a shift as needed.
Inspect block products for acceptable quality.
Keep the area clean and organized throughout the shift.
Follow mixer cleaning lockout procedures and, as needed at shutdown, clean the mixer within the designated time.
Attend safety meetings, follow company and regulatory safety rules, and report and correct hazardous conditions.
Maintain predictable and regular attendance.
