This role is responsible for providing approved care of assigned patients and assisting in the implementation of interventions under the supervision of an RN. The CTOR will supervise and assist patients with activities of daily living and developmentally appropriate activities. They will offer assistance to co-workers after completion of their own duties, use crisis control techniques, and assist in de-escalation of patients and visitors. The CTOR may also assist with patient transport and 1 on 1 patient observation as needed. In addition, the role involves demonstrating Cincinnati Children's CARES behaviors, reporting patient status changes, completing timely documentation, seeking guidance when needed, and discussing concerns with the Director or designee. The CTOR is also responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and efficient environment for employees, patients, and families, complying with Infection Control policies and procedures, and adhering to safety procedures appropriate to children's ages and developmental levels. They will respond to communication system/patient alarms with urgency, answer telephones according to etiquette, assemble charts, order patient supplies, and stock clerical supplies. The CTOR may also assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
