About The Position

The Pharmacy Assistant for the Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority supports the Pharmacy department at their assigned location. The incumbent providers responsive, high-quality services to the patients. The Pharmacy Assistant will perform their job duties in a professional manner while assuring that all the needs of the patients are met with a pleasant demeanor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a health care clinic.
  • HIPAA and Privacy training within 90 days of employment.
  • Blood borne pathogen training annually.
  • CPR/First Aid within initial 90 (Ninety) days of hire.
  • Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
  • Ability to utilize patient database software.
  • Requires ability to utilize a multi-line telephone with good telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Well-developed hum relation skills to convey technical concepts to others and to give instructions.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and to interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and priorities work processes in a high-volume environment in order to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, work choice, and body language.
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in the duties of the position in order to meet mandated deadlines and to comply with goas and objectives.

  • If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining inventories of medication and prescription records of pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure the prescription records have accurate information and enter client information in the database.
  • Accurately typing and printing out prescription labels.
  • Answer phone calls, emails or customer inquiries in a professional manner and referring them to pharmacist when related to medicine, health, or prescriptions.
  • Ensuring that work areas are organized and clean.
  • Complies and ensures compliance with applicable legislation, funding and organizational requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure confidential handling of sensitive team member information in line with data protection policies and laws.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
