About The Position

The CTE Tutor supports the CTE Instructors/Teachers by working with adult students to provide supplemental small group instruction and tutoring support at a high school level. The CTE Tutor works under the direct supervision of the assigned teacher. The CTE Tutor will maintain detailed records of students enrolled into the programs. The CTE Tutor must possess the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. The CTE Tutor will assist students in and will provide students with language support, tech support, and support in Career Technical Education.

  • Knowledge and consistent practice of the ethical guidelines as outlined by EPIC and federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a professional personal appearance, attitude and work behavior at all times.
  • Ability to effectively address and meet a wide range of academic, social/emotional and developmental needs for all types of learners.
  • Skill in data analysis to assess, monitor, and inform instruction for student growth.
  • Experience fostering positive & trusting relationships with students in a learning environment.
  • Familiarity with school administrative tasks and learning methods.
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials, including school assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college experience, preferred.
  • Experience in an educational setting, preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of related experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Canvas program, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with the completion of assignments, homework, test preparation, etc.
  • Assist and trains students with the use of technology including devices, programs, email and video communication platforms (i.e. Zoom, WebEx, and Google Meet).
  • Assist Instructors in the implementation of individualized learning plans for all students with bilingual/bicultural instructional needs.
  • Provide individual assistance to students to ensure an understanding of concepts and serve as a translator to facilitate communication.
  • Strictly adhere to the EPIC’s classroom policies and guidelines in both in-person and online.
  • Collaborate with all site staff in maintaining the site clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with Instructors to ensure a positive student experience.
  • Document and track the distribution of technological devices to students.
  • Represent and market the various programs to the target community/region.
  • Monitor some of the student recruitment, retention, and average daily attendance (ADA).
  • Assist in developing, managing and maintaining physical and electronic student files in a central and organized manner.
  • Assist/Support translation of material.
