About The Position

Great Lakes Energy is seeking an experienced lineworker or utility professional to join our team in Boyne City as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher & Safety Specialist. In this unique role, you'll bring your real-world field experience into the classroom-teaching the next generation of energy professionals-while also supporting critical safety and loss control initiatives across the organization. This hybrid role involves splitting time between teaching Energy Fundamentals, Lineworker, and Drone Technology courses at Boyne City High School and supporting the Cooperative's safety culture through Loss Control initiatives, promoting safe work practices, delivering training, and identifying/mitigating risks.

Requirements

Experience in electric distribution systems, construction, maintenance, and restoration.
Knowledge of drone technology and flight operations.
At least 5 years of related utility or lineworker experience.
FAA Part 107 certification (or ability to obtain).
Safety training experience (OSHA/MIOSHA preferred).
Associate degree in occupational safety or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong communication, organization, and instructional skills.
Valid Michigan driver's license.
CDL (Group A with air brake endorsement) preferred.
