About The Position

The LISD TECH Center offers over 26 Career Technical Education programs for high school students in Lenawee County. Instructors bring industry experience to share their passions with students. TECH Center programs provide industry-recognized credentials, college credits, and technical skills for post-high school success. This program focuses on developing skills and exploring opportunities in natural resources and environmental science. The curriculum includes performing environmental surveys, experimenting with solutions to agricultural and environmental problems, identifying plants and wildlife, high-tech monitoring skills, habitat management expertise, and learning about sustainable product and energy use. Student leadership is fostered through teamwork and participation in FFA activities, including awards and competitions. More information can be found on the LISD TECH Center website.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and Michigan Vocational Authorization OR eligible for Annual Career Authorization.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the high school level.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain partnerships with industry and post secondary institutions.
Knowledge of current educational research and best practice, particularly in the areas of multiple intelligence, brain based learning and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities
