About The Position

Pleasant Hill School District is seeking a temporary middle and high school CTE Metals Teacher. The successful candidate will support the district’s mission to graduate students with strong academic and personal achievement, readiness for post-secondary excellence, and preparation for productive, compassionate citizenship through research-based instruction and collaborative support. The district seeks a candidate who believes every student can learn, puts students’ interests first, and helps foster a safe, healthy, and engaging environment.

Applicants must hold a valid Oregon teaching license or be able to obtain one, with Industrial Arts CTE Certification. The role requires passing fingerprinting and background checks, and the candidate must be able to pass a drug screen if hired. The position is open until filled.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience working with middle and high school-aged students.
• Strong student relationship-building skills and the ability to establish effective classroom routines and management.
• Ability to establish effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, students, and community populations.
• Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.
• Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machine technology.
• Valid Oregon teaching license, or ability to obtain one, with Industrial Arts CTE Certification.
• Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
• Ability to pass a drug screen if hired.
