The job involves ensuring accurate communication of patient information, performing diagnostic x-ray and CT exams with minimal radiation, explaining procedures to patients, and demonstrating proficiency with various computer systems like RIS, PACS, and Laborworkx. The role also includes verifying patient identity, reviewing medical history, assessing image quality, establishing intravenous access for contrast media, and supporting the School of Radiology's educational process through supervision and training of students and new employees. Adherence to radiation safety regulations and Mercy's safety guidelines is paramount. Department-specific duties include performing both fixed and portable x-ray and CT exams, preparing patients, and reviewing images for quality.
