CT/X-Ray Tech Part Time
About The Position
This is a part-time, weekend-only position for a CT/X-Ray Tech. The hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. The role involves managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Responsibilities include responding promptly to patient and physician requests, ensuring patient satisfaction, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures. The technician will be responsible for positioning patients, performing imaging procedures, analyzing results, and resolving any image quality issues. They will also enter, transmit, and report scan results, assess contraindications for procedures, review patient charts, and ensure all procedural requirements are met. Patient safety and comfort during exams are paramount.
Requirements
- Two (2) year certificate, associate degree and/or baccalaureate degree.
- ARRT Certification - Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology in KY
- CT Experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Responsibilities
- Manages time appropriately, determines priorities, follows chain of command.
- Displays a positive attitude, respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
- Responds to patient/family requests in a timely manner to promote patient satisfaction.
- Intervenes in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional appearance, adheres to dress-code policy.
- Works independently as well as a team member, assists co-workers and/or other departments / areas as needed.
- Reviews/adheres to hospital/unit Policies and Procedures.
- Responds to physician requests promptly, works proactively to provide department services or assistance.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
- Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
- Assess factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications, insufficient patient prep, pregnancy or artifacts.
- Reviews the patient’s chart and/or order and verifies physician request and appropriate diagnosis for exam.
- Ensures procedural requirements are in place prior to the patient exam (aprons, contrast, fluoro, tray, supplies, etc).
- Utilizes permanent markers on films indicating left / right.
- Monitors and ensures the safety and comfort of the patient during exams.
