About The Position

Performs all CT radiologic procedures at an advanced skills level. Performs procedures to produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures. EHR proficiency. Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately. Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. Positions and transfers patients comfortably, immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures. Performs all basic to advanced CT examinations, reconstructions and Cardiovascular CT imaging. Independent workstation proficiency. Preceptor/Trainer with students and/or new technicians/technologists as needed. If necessary, will take call to meet the needs of the department. On call requirements are defined separately by each hospital. Survey Readiness preparation/teaching, policy, and procedure training. 4C/Standard Work assistance. Equipment knowledge and trouble shooting. Mentor for CT Technician, CT Tech I, and CT Tech II. Delegation skills, provides leadership role in absence of Lead Tech, Interdepartmental Involvement/assignments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years Progressive responsibility in a diagnostic imaging department.
  • Completed CT Tech II skill sets at a WellSpan facility.
  • Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT Upon Hire
  • Certified in Computed Tomography - NMTCB Upon Hire
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire
  • Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in computer tomography procedures. Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Performs all CT Scan studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
  • Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
  • Administers intravenous contrast media under the direct supervision of the physician.
  • Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
  • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Positions and transfers patients comfortably, immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
  • Performs all basic to advanced CT examinations, reconstructions and Cardiovascular CT imaging.
  • Acts as Preceptor/Trainer with students and/or new technicians/technologists as needed.
  • Takes call to meet the needs of the department, as defined by each hospital.
  • Assists with Survey Readiness preparation/teaching, policy, and procedure training.
  • Provides 4C/Standard Work assistance.
  • Demonstrates equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Serves as a mentor for CT Technician, CT Tech I, and CT Tech II.
  • Utilizes delegation skills and provides leadership in the absence of the Lead Tech.
  • Participates in Interdepartmental Involvement/assignments.
