About The Position

This position involves operating CT and auxiliary equipment, processing images, and maintaining equipment. The role requires maintaining required documentation and preparing patients for CT examinations. The technologist will explain procedures in layman's terms, ensure consent forms are obtained, and monitor the patient's condition throughout the exam. Image processing, labeling, and record maintenance are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.

Responsibilities

Prepares patient for exam, relieving anxiety by explaining the procedure in layman's terms and ensuring necessary consent forms are obtained.
Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and adjusting x-ray equipment.
Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting abnormalities such as fainting, discoloration, or contrast reactions to the Radiologist.
Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information.
Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
Utilizes film markers to ensure images are properly marked as 'right' or 'left' side.
Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and completes tracking steps for each examination.
Performs related duties as required.
