About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a CT Technologist to join our imaging team at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work the following schedule: Week 1: Monday and Tuesday (7AM - 3:30PM), Thursday and Friday (7AM - 7:30PM) Week 2: Monday and Tuesday (7AM - 7:30PM) This position is eligible for a sign on bonus that is prorated based on experience. The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

Requirements

  • ARRT Radiology Tech Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more years of experience in a related role
  • Previous ambulatory care experience preferred.
  • Additional certifications in Imaging
  • ARRT CT certification or successful completion within 18 months within 1-1/2 Yrs

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

  • Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
  • Ensures patient data integrity
  • Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
  • Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
  • Follows infection control guidelines
  • Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members
  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations
  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances
  • Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution
  • Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure
  • Participates as an active team member
  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
  • Cleans and maintains room and supplies
  • Provides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.
