About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist for a travel contract position in San Pedro, CA. The role involves performing computed tomography (CT) examinations, preparing and positioning patients, administering contrast media, and operating CT imaging equipment. The technologist will also be responsible for patient education, documentation in EMR and PACS, quality assurance, and adhering to safety and infection prevention guidelines. Collaboration with radiologists and healthcare teams is essential for providing excellent patient care.

Requirements

• CA state license
• BLS/ACLS certifications
• 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Perform computed tomography (CT) examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to imaging procedures.
• Administer contrast media in accordance with facility policies and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
• Review physician orders and verify patient identity using established safety protocols.
• Accurately document procedures and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS.
• Perform routine quality assurance checks and report equipment concerns as needed.
• Follow ALARA principles, radiation safety standards, infection prevention guidelines, and departmental policies.
• Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide outstanding patient care.
