The CT Technologist performs computed tomography examinations to produce images of various anatomical parts and systems for diagnostic purposes as directed by the radiologist. This role involves collecting pertinent patient data, verifying physician orders, ensuring proper screening protocols are followed, and assessing patient readiness for procedures. The technologist is responsible for explaining procedures, obtaining consent, administering contrast agents, and operating CT equipment to capture optimal images. They also reformat images as needed, send them for interpretation, archive them, and document all relevant patient care and procedural information. Additionally, the CT Technologist facilitates communication with other departments for timely procedures, responds to emergency calls, maintains equipment, performs daily quality control, and manages supplies. They also implement downtime procedures when necessary and perform daily glucometer QC and procedures.
