As a CT Technologist, you will capture precise diagnostic images to aid in the diagnosis and/or ruling out of medical conditions. This involves creating detailed cross-sectional images of the body, ensuring a positive and comforting patient experience. A strong understanding of diagnostic imaging workflow, patient positioning, and capturing clear results for timely diagnoses is essential.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or equivalent approved Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • Two years of CT Tech experience.
  • Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CT CRT) and CTCT: Certified Technologist/Computed Tomography.
  • AZ Driver's License (DRV LIC).
  • Must also hold and maintain national American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (CT ARRT).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS).

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT scans based on current protocols and/or radiologist recommendations (e.g., Trauma/ER, Perfusion, Routine Body, Routine Neuro, and Interventional Procedures).
  • Assists Interventional Radiologist by accurately scanning the area of interest requested by the Radiologist for procedures like biopsies and drainages.
  • Ensures patient is ready for scan, including confirming appropriate gauge IV needle, appropriate type/dose of contrast, and allergy status.
  • Accurately and thoroughly completes hospital/department specific forms per protocol, including exams in Radnet, incident reports/extravasation forms, patient contrast information forms, side/site forms, and documenting exam information in the CT log.
  • Performs protocol management by evaluating and determining the area of interest and type of scan to be performed on the patient, consulting with a physician as necessary.
  • Encourages good working relationships and promotes team effort within the department by communicating in a positive manner and motivating staff.
