About The Position

Plans, coordinates, supervises, and carries out the activities of the CT area. Work is carried out in an independent, professional manner with minimal supervision. This role involves performing CT procedures, maintaining CT equipment, ensuring proper records are kept, and participating in QA/QC programs. The technologist must demonstrate competency in patient care across various age groups and understand growth and development. They are responsible for obtaining and interpreting patient information, understanding treatment needs, and maintaining proper patient records. The role also includes involvement in CQI related duties. Employees must perform within Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program, detecting and reporting compliance variances. The position may occasionally assign duties to transporters and requires frequent but limited contacts with others, necessitating discretion and tact. Errors could lead to serious losses such as improper costs, waste of material, damage to equipment, and delays in work processing, with effects often confined within the organization. Some confidential data is handled regularly. The role involves considerable physical effort, including lifting, carrying, and handling medium to heavy equipment and materials, and working in reaching or strained positions frequently. The working environment involves exposure to dirt, odors, noise, temperature extremes, occupational risks, and potential contact with bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, or bio-hazardous materials. Specific tasks involve contact with blood, body fluids, or sharps, and direct work with patients less than 12 months of age. The role requires continuous hearing, visual, speaking, standing, balancing, and walking, with lifting up to 25 lbs. Frequently, color vision, handling, and pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs are required. Occasionally, bending, typing, manual dexterity, feeling, reaching, running in emergencies, carrying, kneeling, squatting, and using N95 respirators or hazmat suits are involved.

Requirements

  • Technical or Vocational school plus up to 2 years specialty training
  • One year of related experience.
  • Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR) within 30 days from hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist
  • Graduate of an approved 2-year Radiological Technology program.
  • One year experience required in CT field.
  • Registered Technologist.
  • CT Registry must be completed within one year of hire.
  • Demonstrates competency in patient care according to the age of the patient and population served.

Responsibilities

  • Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program.
  • Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
  • Occasionally assigns duties to transporters.
  • Requires discretion and tact to interpret departmental procedures.
