About The Position

This role involves producing high-quality cross-sectional images of internal organs and tissues, interpreting imaging orders, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating CT equipment, and positioning patients for accurate diagnostic images. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Current state licensure
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Responsibilities

  • Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
  • Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs and that the patient’s demographic data is correct in all applicable systems.
  • Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform VNA punctures, as necessary.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and process billing via RIS.
  • Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
