About The Position

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce diagnostic images. This role ensures accurate imaging by positioning patients, operating the CT scanner, and assessing image quality. The CT Technologist also provides guidance and training to other technologists as needed, assists with troubleshooting equipment, and initiates repair requests when necessary. The position requires a commitment to providing excellent patient care, collaborating effectively with physicians and staff, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and experience deemed adequate by the department Director and Lead Technologist to operate CT equipment and evaluate images.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Oregon Radiologic Technologist license.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in CT, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 2 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior CT Technologist experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional, positive, and compassionate atmosphere for patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Perform all aspects of CT scanning, including patient positioning, scanning protocols, and image quality review.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure proper use of shielding and exposure settings.
  • Assist with training and mentoring technologists and students as directed.
  • Operate and maintain CT equipment; troubleshoot issues and initiate repair service as needed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and completion of patient records in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and care team members to provide timely and accurate results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
