About The Position

We're seeking a registered CT Technologist to perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients! This is a floater position in the Moorestown area, with weekly hours of 5 x 8hrs = 40hrs, Monday - Friday, with intermittent rotation evenings and weekends. The role involves performing CT examinations as ordered, accurately critiquing images for diagnostic quality, and choosing appropriate protocols and technical factors based on patient characteristics. Responsibilities include explaining procedures, positioning patients, monitoring them during exams, obtaining medical history, obtaining consent for and administering IV contrast, preparing contrast media, and utilizing scanner, PACS, and RIS systems effectively. The technologist will also maintain a clean and safe environment, perform daily and monthly QA procedures, adhere to ALARA principles, Image Gently, and Image Wisely for radiation safety, maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations, and be knowledgeable of SJRA policies and procedures. Additionally, the role requires maintaining emergency equipment and medications, initiating basic life support when necessary, using infection control practices, and maintaining punctuality and regular attendance. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Current, valid New Jersey license is required
Graduate of approved program for Radiological Technology
ARRT and CT Registry required
Current BLS/CPR training
CT scanner operation and training
CT anatomy and knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to perform venipunctures
Knowledge of operation system of CT scanner, RIS and PACS
Basic proficiency with computer monitors, keyboard and mouse for scanning, RIS and PACS use
Organized, detail oriented, observant
Calm and effective communicator
Helpful, patient and sympathetic

Responsibilities

Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.
Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patient.
Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patients’ needs and questions.
Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on/off examination table as needed.
Monitor patients during exam.
Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies.
Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administration.
Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast.
Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices.
Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as needed.
Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentation.
Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient.
Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner.
Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations.
Knowledge of SJRA policies, procedures and protocols.
Maintain emergency equipment and meds that may be needed in CT area.
Initiate basic life support actions when necessary.
Use infection control practices.
Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
All other duties as assigned.
