About The Position

Among the Franciscan team, the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for operating specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy. This aids radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. This position assists in training students and technologists, and performs injection procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Certificate Radiology
  • Associate's Degree Nuclear Medicine
  • Bachelor's Degree Nuclear Medicine
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • State License - . Indiana: Radiology or Nuclear Medicine
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - NMTCB ( Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) NMTCB(CT)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - .

Responsibilities

  • Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms.
  • Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
  • Obtain the most optimal images for physician interpretation while processing and evaluating images according to policy and protocol.
  • Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results. Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS.
  • Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.
  • Practice established safety guidelines, and utilize ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques.
