About The Position

This position is for a PRN CT Technologist at Arkansas Children's. The role involves developing the knowledge to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner while providing excellent patient care. Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
No experience required
Must obtain one of the following certifications in one year: ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Radiologic Technologist License - Arkansas Department of Health

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
Pediatric experience
ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board

Responsibilities

Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Performs other duties as assigned.
