About The Position

This position is for a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist who performs CT scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs. These images are used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. The typical work schedule involves 13-hour day shifts, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in Computed Tomography OR One of the following along with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams: Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years of experience as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience.

Responsibilities

Perform CT scans on patients, including preparing patients, explaining procedures, administering contrast when necessary, positioning patients, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring technical quality of the scan.
Enter and monitor patient data.
Perform quality assurance on CT equipment.
Assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunction to department management.
Take emergency call within the department.
Work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
Support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.
Serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
