About The Position

This position is for a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist who performs CT scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs. These images are used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. The typical work schedule involves 13-hour day shifts, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in Computed Tomography OR One of the following along with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams: Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years of experience as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans on patients, including preparing patients, explaining procedures, administering contrast when necessary, positioning patients, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring technical quality of the scan.
  • Enter and monitor patient data.
  • Perform quality assurance on CT equipment.
  • Assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunction to department management.
  • Take emergency call within the department.
  • Work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
  • Support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.
  • Serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
  • Model Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
