The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures utilizing various imaging equipment and contrast material. Prepares and administers contrast material based on Carle policies and procedures. This role involves performing multiplanar reformats and/or 3D rendered images independently, reviewing cases with the radiologist, and preparing patients by reviewing labs and history. The technologist is responsible for administering IV, oral, and rectal contrast, recognizing and responding to adverse reactions, and screening patients for pregnancy. Ensuring patient, visitor, and environmental safety is paramount, with immediate reporting of safety events. The role may involve assisting in the instruction of students and new staff, performing duties of a CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence, and meeting productivity levels. Cross-training in other modalities within the department may also be required, provided the technologist holds the necessary licenses.
