About The Position

Join our inclusive and diverse team at HSS, where you will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in our state-of-the-art imaging facilities. As a CT Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) examinations for patients of all ages while ensuring a safe, respectful, and compassionate experience. You will operate advanced CT imaging equipment, follow established imaging and radiation safety protocols, and collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary care teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. In this role, you will also be responsible for preparing patients for CT procedures, administering contrast media in accordance with departmental protocols (if applicable), maintaining imaging equipment and supplies, and accurately documenting patient and exam information.

Requirements

  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography (RT) required.
  • Valid NYS license and registration with NYS DOH (LRT).
  • Flexibility in scheduling to provide coverage, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proven reliability and commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred or required within an established timeframe.
  • Prior CT experience preferred.
  • IV certification and experience administering contrast preferred.
  • BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic CT examinations for patients across various age groups.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during imaging procedures.
  • Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment in accordance with department and regulatory standards.
  • Follow radiation safety and infection prevention protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Prepare patients for CT procedures and provide clear instructions and education regarding the exam process.
  • Administer contrast media according to physician orders and departmental policies, when applicable.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Accurately document examination details, patient history, and imaging information in the electronic medical record and PACS systems.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and support continuous process improvement efforts.
