About The Position

Join our PRESNow team as a CT Technologist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through advanced imaging services. In this role, you will perform CT examinations according to established protocols, review and prioritize exams for clinical appropriateness, and communicate critical findings effectively. You will support new employee orientation by documenting clinical competencies, maintain all required certifications and credentials, and may perform general radiology procedures and/or laboratory testing as needed. We're looking for a collaborative professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Certified CT Technologist
  • New Mexico Computed Tomography License (NMCT) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Computed Tomography certification (ARRT(CT)) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • OR CT Technologist in Training / Provisional Status
  • New Mexico Provisional Computed Tomography License (NMPCT) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiography (ARRT(R)) required.
  • Must obtain ARRT(CT) certification and New Mexico CT licensure (NMCT) within two (2) years of obtaining the NMPCT.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Additional Requirements for Provisional Licensure Candidates applying under provisional status must meet New Mexico licensure requirements in at least one recognized medical imaging or radiation therapy discipline (e.g., Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Registered Radiologist Assistant) and be actively pursuing an approved CT certification pathway.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize critical thinking, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practices to perform CT imaging procedures safely and effectively.
  • Review imaging orders for appropriateness, validate exam requirements, and ensure all safety screenings and quality checks are completed prior to imaging.
  • Advocate for patients and families by addressing concerns, escalating issues as needed, and helping resolve clinical and ethical matters.
  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures, answer questions, and provide a compassionate, supportive experience throughout their care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, improve patient flow, and optimize outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety by following established protocols, performing patient identification and exam verification processes, and addressing potential risks before imaging.
  • Monitor and report safety concerns related to equipment, supplies, and the clinical environment.
  • Promote culturally sensitive, patient-centered care that respects the diverse backgrounds, values, and needs of patients and families.
  • Support the orientation, training, and professional development of students, new hires, and colleagues.
  • Maintain knowledge of current imaging protocols, technology advancements, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and strong communication skills while fostering positive team relationships and supporting department staffing and operational needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain competency in additional clinical duties, including X-ray, laboratory testing, EKGs, and other responsibilities as assigned.
