About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced CT Technologist for our CT Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a CT Technologist you will perform CT examinations in accordance with the protocols established by the radiologists. You will demonstrate proficiency in operating the CT-scanner and all ancillary equipment within the CT department. You will also assist the radiologist and other staff in interventional procedures. Understanding the principles and dangers involved in the administration of oral and intravenous contrast is crucial, as is identifying contraindications to IV contrast administration and recognizing symptoms of IV contrast reactions. You will properly identify patients, review orders, and select scanning protocols to maximize quality and safe patient care in CT. Accurate documentation in all computer systems within CT and Imaging Services pertinent to CT scanning (HIS, RIS, PACS, Telelradiography, image reformatting) is required. Maximizing patient throughput and demonstrating teamwork with coworkers by managing large patient volume, including the transport of patients to and/or from CT as necessary, is also a key responsibility. You will provide general patient care as necessary within the CT department and assist in orienting and training new employees and students.

Requirements

High school or GED
Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
ARRT (CT) Certification
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Nice To Haves

1 year CT experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide general patient care as necessary within the CT department.
Assist in orienting and training of new employees and students.
