About The Position

Perform CT exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care. This role involves performing CT exams, assisting physicians in invasive procedures, and ensuring efficiency within department time standards. The technologist will obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide information to ensure patient comfort and understanding. Collaboration with radiologists, referring clinics, and patients is key to ensuring the accuracy of exams, films, and medical records. The position also requires ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete, incorporating company values into daily interactions, and potentially training new employees, managing supplies, and assisting in other departments.

Requirements

  • RT (R) (CT) required within one year of employment
  • CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
  • Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Competent in using a computer keyboard, email, Imagecast and PACS or similar applications.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-6 months general x-ray experience preferred.
  • 6-12 months CT experience preferred.
  • IV and power contrast injector experience preferred.
  • Willing to train new graduates of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT exams and assist physician in invasive procedures in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness within the department time standards for routine exams.
  • Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it.
  • Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient’s medical records.
  • Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.
