About The Position

Part-time position with a Special Weekend Option (SWO). The schedule is Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This is a backfill opening. The role involves operating the CT scanner, preparing and positioning patients, screening patients for safe scanning and contrast administration, obtaining IV access, administering contrast, and responding to adverse contrast events. The technologist must possess knowledge of scan protocols, select appropriate protocols, adjust scan parameters for diagnostic images, and collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians. They will also follow radiation safety protocols, perform routine QC on equipment, stay current with continuing education, assist in medical alert situations, communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team, and document information in the EMR. Assistance with minimally invasive procedures may also be required.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Radiography , RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
  • Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CT scanner, prepares and positions patients.

  • Documents necessary information in EMR.
