About The Position

A large acute-care hospital in Peoria, Illinois, is seeking CT Technologists to join its computed tomography department. The technologist will perform a broad range of diagnostic CT examinations, establish IV access, maintain image quality, and provide safe, compassionate care throughout each procedure. Both experienced technologists and qualified new graduates will be considered. Experienced candidates with GE equipment experience are strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification — ARRT.
  • Active or eligible Illinois Emergency Management Agency license — IEMA.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification — BLS.
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Ability to work three 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to start IVs and perform general CT examinations.
  • Strong patient-care, communication, and image-quality skills.
  • New graduates will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of CT Technologist experience.
  • Experience operating GE CT equipment.
  • Experience working in a hospital-based imaging department.
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records.
  • Familiarity with McKesson PACS.
  • Strong ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced diagnostic CT examinations according to established protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients correctly for imaging procedures.
  • Start IVs and support the administration of contrast according to department policies and scope of practice.
  • Verify imaging orders and confirm patient identity before each examination.
  • Explain procedures to patients and respond to questions or concerns.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Review completed examinations for technical quality and completeness.
  • Follow radiation-safety, infection-control, and quality-assurance standards.
  • Document patient and procedure information accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the clinical team.
  • Operate and maintain CT equipment according to department and manufacturer standards.
  • Respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and emergency situations.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as assigned.
