This is a part-time, per diem CT Technologist position within the AMC Mount Pleasant - CT department. The role requires a commitment of at least two shifts per month and one holiday per year. The CT Technologist will competently operate CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity scans. Responsibilities include obtaining patient medical history, ensuring exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician orders, positioning patients, selecting scanning factors, and providing radiation protection. The technologist will also prepare and administer contrast media, provide measurements and additional slices for interpretation, and post-process images. Record keeping, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documenting billing codes are also key duties. The role involves identifying equipment performance issues, performing quality assurance tests, reporting malfunctions, and evaluating new products. Patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique, are also part of the job. The technologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development over the life span and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
