About The Position

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital, a Magnet Hospital, is seeking a CT Technologist to produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. This role involves interpreting scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, operating equipment, and positioning patients. The position is critical in patient treatment and requires a caregiver who can acquire and review patient chart data, educate patients on procedures, and maintain the CT area. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000. The work schedule is a day/evening rotation from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with no weekends required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing
  • Current state licensure (RL) prior to employment
  • Certification in Computed Tomography [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Responsibilities

  • Produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues.
  • Accurately interpret scanning instructions.
  • Administer contrast materials.
  • Prepare and operate the equipment.
  • Position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area including the technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
