About The Position

The CT Technologist is responsible for serving as a patient advocate to ensure patient needs are met efficiently, providing education to patients before, during, and after exams, and maintaining positive relationships with patients, other departments, physicians, and colleagues. This role involves ensuring timely scheduling of inpatients and outpatients, reviewing patient satisfaction data, and implementing improvements. The technologist is accountable for producing quality CT scans, demonstrating appropriate operation of all CT equipment, and ensuring safety in all areas, including electrical, environmental, and radiation safety. They must also ensure all necessary information is present before CT exams, complete data entries in HIS and RIS, and participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives. The role also includes assessing personal learning needs, seeking appropriate training, setting learning goals, and maintaining required training hours. Additionally, the technologist is encouraged to submit innovative ideas, implement initiatives, participate in hospital-wide and departmental activities, and attend staff meetings. Productivity, cost containment, and revenue generation are also key aspects, with the expectation of submitting ideas for improvement. The position requires ARRT eligibility and some scanning experience.

  • Able to complete most CT procedures.
  • ARRT Registered.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a patient advocate to ensure that patients and customers needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures timely scheduling of both inpatients and out patients.
  • Provides education to all patients before, during and after exams.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all customers i.e., patients, other departments, physicians and fellow associates.
  • Reviews patient satisfaction data and participates in improving areas of concern.
  • Utilizes appropriate resources to resolve patient irritants.
  • Addresses and resolves customer complaints.
  • Ensures on-time completion of own performance pathway.
  • Submits self-evaluation to leader two weeks before review.
  • Participates quarterly in the associate satisfaction survey.
  • Submits ideas on improving customer satisfaction on a continual basis.
  • Accountable for the production of quality CT scans.
  • Demonstrates the appropriate operation of all CT equipment.
  • Demonstrates safety in all areas, electrical, environmental, radiation etc.
  • Ensures all appropriate information is present before CT exams are performed.
  • Completes all data entries in the HIS and RIS.
  • Participates in efforts to monitor and improve departmental CQI indicators.
  • Submits ideas for improving quality in the department.
  • Assesses own learning needs, seeks appropriate training and development.
  • Sets own learning goals.
  • Maintains a program to complete required training hours per quarter.
  • Submits dynamite ideas to your leader.
  • Implement Just-Do-It initiatives in your department during the year.
  • Participates in hospital wide activities.
  • Participates in departmental recognition and socialization activities.
  • Attends all departmental staff meetings.
  • Participates in efforts to improve productivity in your department.
