About The Position

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for operating specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists, physicians and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. This position assists in training students and technologists and performs injection procedures. The Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of procedures and are comfortable during procedures.

Requirements

Certificate - Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
Radiography (ARRT-R) - Required within 180 days
Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) - Required within 1 year

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree - Preferred
2 years Radiology Experience - Preferred

Responsibilities

Operating specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy.
Assisting in training students and technologists.
Performing injection procedures.
Maintaining optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties.
Working closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of procedures and are comfortable during procedures.
Cleaning, maintaining, and restocking examination and inventory rooms.
Collaborating on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
Obtaining the most optimal images for physician interpretation while processing and evaluating images according to policy and protocol.
Obtaining and recording patient identification, medical history, or test results.
Reviewing and updating patient documentation in EMR and PACS.
Performing venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.
Practicing established safety guidelines, and utilizing ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques.
