About The Position

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, provides technical expertise to multiple business units. Functions as a resource to staff to provide orientation, continuing education and protocol development.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or certified by a CNMT program.
  • 3 years CT experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
  • ARRT certified as a CT Technologist.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • ARRT Computed Tomography OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tech quality assurance program and the reviewing and updating of protocols alongside of or in place of the lead technologists.
  • Assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment.
  • Assist with accreditation responsibilities.
  • Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to maintain industry standards in imaging techniques and disseminates information to imaging departmental leadership and as a part of new hire orientation.
  • Performs job responsibilities of CT Tech I & Advanced CT II Tech.
  • Leads training on new techniques and protocols for research studies and collaborates with radiologists and researchers where applicable to identify new techniques and problem solving resolutions.
  • Serves as a technical resource to technologists on a daily operational basis.
  • Assist technologist with continuing education needs and participates as a peer delegate in staff annual performance reviews.
  • Creates and implements new training programs, where applicable, and assists with the startup of new offsite locations.
  • Responsibilities for new locations include, but are not limited to, working on reporting systems, obtaining appropriate images and effectively communicating with attending physicians as well as co-workers and patients.
