About The Position

The CT Technologist PRN is responsible for performing imaging procedures, patient care, and equipment operation. This role involves explaining procedures to patients, positioning them correctly for scans, and assessing their overall condition. The technologist will also adjust technical factors and maintain equipment. Additionally, they will enhance their technical skills and stay updated on advancements in technology. This position is part of the Radiology Department at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, a 369-bed acute-care facility serving North Texas since 1958. The hospital specializes in various medical services and is recognized for its high-quality patient care, including being a Level III Trauma Center and a Magnet-designated hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 year radiologic technician experience w/out ARRT-CT required or no experience w/ARRT-CT required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R upon hire required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/no radiology technician exp) upon hire required OR ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/1 year radiology technician exp) 12 months required
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Responsibilities

  • Explains procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to exam
  • Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest
  • Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
  • Assesses and recognizes the patient's emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
  • Adjusts technical factors
  • Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
  • Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement
  • Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
