Under the direction of the Radiologist, Director, Supervisors, and Lead Special Procedure Technologist performs diagnostic medical imaging including Cardiac CT and invasive procedures by CT Scan examinations. This role involves performing computed tomography examinations, assessing situations, and choosing appropriate courses of action. The technologist is expected to respond to workload changes, conduct duties according to departmental standards, and communicate technical information effectively to patients, families, and colleagues. A key responsibility is producing quality images consistently and serving as a resource to co-workers. The role also includes assessing for vein/site selection, initiating venipuncture, documenting procedures, and demonstrating knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, including recognizing abnormalities and alerting the radiologist as needed.
