About The Position

This role involves performing CT and X-ray examinations according to physician orders, established protocols, and department standards. The technologist will ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality throughout the imaging process. Additionally, the role includes assisting with training, mentoring, and supporting CT/X-ray technologists and other department staff, as well as identifying and resolving workflow, equipment, or patient-care concerns.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program for Radiologic Technologists.
• ARRT registered in Radiography (R.T.(R)) and Computed Tomography (CT).
• Current Iowa Permit to Practice.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, tact, and kindness when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
• Ability to coordinate and maintain an organized, efficient, and effective workflow.
• Demonstrates knowledge of CT and general radiography procedures, protocols, equipment, contrast administration, radiation safety, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between CT and X-ray services and perform examinations according to physician orders, established protocols, and department standards.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality throughout the imaging process.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and supporting CT/X-ray technologists and other department staff.
• Identify workflow, equipment, or patient-care concerns and assist with timely resolution or escalation when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
• Stay current with advances in CT and X-ray technology, imaging practices, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete additional education, training, or certifications as required by the department.
