About The Position

The Lead CT Technologist is responsible for assisting the Imaging Manager in the overall planning, organizing, implementing and controlling of all CT activities including inter-departmental relationships and physician relationships. This role involves training new imaging staff in CT, providing education and training related to CT, and overseeing the collection and processing of CT procedures. The Lead CT Technologist will proactively participate in processes to guide patient care efficiently and cost-effectively, monitor quality controls, and assist with policy and procedure reviews. Competency in general radiology, fluoroscopy, surgery, bone density, and general office duties is expected, in addition to performing CT scans and administering contrast. The role requires strong leadership skills to foster growth in CT among staff, and the ability to safely transport patients. Collaboration with radiologists on protocol development and implementation is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of 2-year certified Radiology Technologist School program.
  • Maintain current CT and X-ray registrations.
  • ARRT and IEMA as required
  • CPR certification.
  • Physical demands of the position, including vision, hearing, repetitive motion and environment are required.
  • Receives training and/or attends necessary meetings to meet the criteria as outlined in Hillsboro Health’s Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct.
  • Understands the responsibilities related to compliance and knows to contact the Corporate Compliance Officer should there be any instance of question or concern regarding fraud and/or abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Train new Imaging staff in CT.
  • Provide education, training and information to Imaging staff as it pertains to CT.
  • Assist in overseeing the collection and processing of CT procedures.
  • Proactively participate in processes to guide patient care in the most efficient, productive, and cost-effective manner possible.
  • Monitor and record required quality controls as assigned.
  • Assist with the review and updates of policies and procedures.
  • Be competent in general radiology including fluoroscopy, surgery and bone density as well as general office duties.
  • Competent in performing CT and administering contrast.
  • Displays leadership skills including working well with others to promote their growth in CT.
  • Safely transport patients using assisting devices as needed.
  • Work with radiologists on developing protocols.
  • Enter and change protocols in CT as appropriate.
  • Assist ensuring CT regulatory, state, federal, and hospital requirements are followed.
  • Maintain the CT QA program with adjustments and additions as needed.
  • Maintain records of LDCT exams and send letters when appropriate.
  • Completes and maintains all required education and/or training requirements.
  • Complies with HIPPA regulations and maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Follows and maintains all lawful safety, health requirements and regulations and follows protocols for required protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promptly reports safety issues, job-related injury or illness, near misses, etc. in SafetyZone.
  • Follows Hillsboro Health Standards of Behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of job and organization.
  • Ability to lead a team of diverse individuals to accomplish goals.
