About The Position

Sentara Port Warwick in Newport News, VA, is currently hiring a CT Technologist to work a flexi/PRN rotating schedule. This role performs Computed Tomography (CT) under the direction of a qualified physician. The CT Technologist II performs CT Technologist I responsibilities with the addition of one of the following: Intervention, Dual modality CT/Diag or Hospital Based/Standing ED. The technologist provides quality Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards. Performs Computed Tomography (CT) per protocol under the direction of a qualified physician; provides patient and family education; operates equipment safely; completes department documentation; maintains all equipment to be clean and operational; maintains adequate supply inventory for performing examinations. Follows radiation safety regulatory guidelines and administers CT Contrast per protocol.

Requirements

  • Trade School Graduate - Radiologic Technology (Required)
  • ARRT or CNMT (Required)
  • Must obtain ARRT (CT) advanced registry within 2 years of hire
  • BLS
  • 7 - 12 months of sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems
