This role involves performing CT scans, ensuring technical quality, adhering to radiation safety, and providing patient care to high-acuity patients in an emergency, inpatient, or outpatient setting, including trauma and ICU. The position requires on-call duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Technical School Diploma
  • Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent or CNMT, RT(CT) Certified
  • Less than 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures.
  • Knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols.
  • Proficient use of advanced software for CT scanning and post-procedure processing applications.
  • Strong aptitude for CT technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CT - Computed Tomography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year

Responsibilities

  • Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
  • Reviews all images, repeating them as necessary for the best possible result.
  • Communicates with patients by addressing them by name, introducing oneself, explaining the exam in lay terms, and keeping them informed of progress.
  • Prepares patient images for PACs for radiologist interpretation and administers contrast media per protocol.
  • Completes technical notes, verifies images, and sends exams to PACS promptly.
  • Notifies the physician of any adverse reaction to contrast media or change in patient's condition.
  • Reviews patient chart/script prior to initiating the exam to verify pertinent information.
  • Prepares patients for CT procedures by accurately assessing their needs and medical history, and provides patient education.
  • Operates the computed tomography scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings with a positive attitude.
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
