CT Technologist II - Weekend
About The Position
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a CT Technologist II for a weekend position. This role involves performing CT scans with technical proficiency, ensuring patient safety through radiation precautions, and providing excellent patient care. The technologist will operate CT scanners, injectors, and monitors, review and repeat images as needed, communicate effectively with patients, prepare images for radiologist interpretation, and administer contrast media. They will also maintain technical notes, notify physicians of adverse reactions or changes in patient condition, review patient charts, prepare patients for procedures, and perform quality control measures. The position requires attending department meetings and maximizing productivity.
Requirements
- Technical School Diploma
- Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent
- Less than 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures.
- Knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols.
- Proficient use of the advanced software for CT scanning and post procedure processing applications.
- Strong aptitude for CT technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
- RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or CT - Computed Tomography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
- CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Responsibilities
- Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
- Reviews all images of all exams, repeating images as necessary for best possible result.
- Communicates with the patient by addressing the patient by name, introducing self to the patient, explaining the exam in lay terms and keeping the patient informed of exam progress.
- Prepares patient images to PACs for interpretation by a radiologist and administers contrast media per protocol.
- Completes technical notes, verifies images, and sends exams to PACS promptly.
- Notifies physician of any adverse reaction to contrast media or change in patient's condition.
- Reviews patient chart/script prior to initiating exam to verify pertinent information.
- Prepares patients for CT procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs, medical history, and provides patient education.
- Operates computed tomography scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
- Attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings with a positive attitude.
- Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
